RIO MAIOR BREAD STUFFED WITH CHEESE, FARINHEIRA SAUSAGE, AND HONEY

Ingredients

1 Rio Maior bread loaf;
1 Farinheira sausage;
100g of Três Igrejas cheese with local pepper;
1 Onion;
1 Garlic clove;
A drizzle of olive oil;
2 tablespoons of mayonnaise;
1 Sprig of chives;

Preparation

1.Start by cutting the "lid" off the bread, remove the crumb, and set aside;
2.Finely chop the onion and garlic, then sauté them in a frying pan with a little olive oil;
3.Once translucent, add the diced farinheira sausage;
4.When the sausage is cooked, add the cheese, bread crumb, and mayonnaise, mixing everything well;
5.Turn off the heat and add the chopped chives to the mixture;
6. Refill the bread with the prepared mixture and bake at 180°C (356°F) until golden brown (approximately 20 minutes);
7. Serve with toasted Rio Maior bread.
